Project Description

Isabel Denyer

Isabel throws her pots using stoneware clay which are then reduction-fired in a gas kiln using traditional glazes.

For her work in porcelain she is presently engaged in exploring colours of the sea. She loves to know that her pots are used every day and for all occasions. Lichen, stonemason’s chisel marks on Yorkshire barns, ripples of water, colours of the sea and the three dot ‘Cintamani’ are constant sources of inspiration and are represented by imprints, sgraffitto and use of oxides.
