Saggar fired vessels and local clay slipware. Alison employs traditional saggar firing, placing pots in a saggar wrapped with plants and fired with combustible materials such as pine cones, beech nuts, and seaweed. During gas kiln firing, these materials burn away, creating unique natural patterns on each piece. Unlike raku or glazing, saggar firing reveals intricate colours and patterns as the kiln cools. Recently, she has been developing a new domestic range featuring wild clay slips, blending artistry with functionality.
