My work deals with exploring and experimenting with aspects of landscape. I work within the vessel format, combining textures and colours giving the viewer an intimate insight into my private view of ceramics. These conclusive forms are recognised as jugs, bowls and vessels; however, these represent profound arguments concerning issues of an individual’ s perception of landscape.
My vessels incorporate three types of clay, the outer layer shrinking by 14%, Â inner layer by 4%, then highlighted by my glazing technique.
Each piece is fired between four and five times, starting with a 1280 glaze, eventually ending on a 795 lustre.
