Ruth Elizabeth Jones

I make large sculptural vessels using ancient coil building techniques. Aiming to balance inner volume and outer form I take inspiration from matriarchal Neolithic pottery cultures.

I also make bowls and smaller pieces on the wheel. I explore the materiality of clay, its possibilities and resistances and my intent is that the meditative focus of making is retained within the work
