Sarah Villeneau

Villeneau’s work conjures ideas of the body, evoking the visceral, whilst also suggesting some long lost life form, fossilised remains or relic of a bygone age. Toying with ideas of attraction and repulsion, the work can be challenging, yet is tactile and playful, inviting touch and sometimes including removable parts and sound elements.

Built with textured soft slabs, with thread and found metal parts added post-firing.
Decorated with a volcanic engobe and satin matte glazes. Fried to stoneware in an electric kiln.
