Tamsin Arrowsmith-Brown

I make wheel-thrown porcelain vessels decorated in a traditional blue and white colour palette. The decoration is an exploration of mark-making inspired by the textures and patterns of embroidery, stitch and textiles.
In contrast to the clean, calm lines of my forms, I create visual texture and dynamism by drawing on the surface of my work, exaggerating and emphasising form or creating the illusion of movement where there is none.
